The deep commitment to organic viticulture is also embodied in "Julie & Nicolas" wine production.
The couple distinguishes itself as dedicated, mindful winemakers. For a decade, they shared their passion with other local winemakers also engaged in organic viticulture principles.
This collaboration is based on selecting produced wines with respect for the land they know of. Together they are committed to a vision that embraces sharing in life, wine and winemaking.
It is a skilful combination between the methods specific to each winemaker and the ones applied at Château de Bastet and Domaine des Cèdres.
Created by organic wine enthusiasts, "Julie & Nicolas" is an offbeat wine trademark revealing wines with common characteristics, yet atypical personalities. Put simply, "Julia & Nicolas" wine list is out of the ordinary.
A selected wine by "Julie & Nicolas" is a deeply-rooted pledge of quality evoking an "organic" emotion to boot!

 

ELEPHANTAISY

Côtes du Rhône

History tells how Hannibal, his soldiers and battle elephants marched through the region, the current locations of some of our vine plots. What better image than the elephant to symbolise our grape varietals' power and grace while worshipping the animal, nowadays an icon for environmental protection. Fantasy? A 'clean wine' with garnet-red colour and ruby glints, combined with a cheerful nose opening gradually on a bouquet of ripe fruits, making our taste buds sing on aromas of fresh raspberry and hints of spice, followed by a supple tannic weft.

Serve at 16 °C with grilled meats, white meats, goat's and sheep's cheeses.

Biodynamic Wine

 

Nature has the power to stir emotion as the sight of a hummingbird in flight. This "natural emotion" can be perceived in this frank and generous wine crafted in biodynamics.
A beautiful raspberry colour sets the tone and anticipates a lovely blueberry and blackcurrant nose with a subtle touch of pepper. The attack is fresh in the mouth, with the flavours of wild strawberries and very ripe red fruits, flirting with fruit richness and buttery silkiness. The finish is taut with vanilla and tangy wild strawberry notes.

To be enjoyed at 16°C with grilled game, duck, and warm goat cheese. Perfect to accompany Asian cuisine or tagine..

Côtes du Rhône Village

With Esprit d'Origine "Julie & Nicolas" go back to the roots of their commitment to organic farming by offering a Côtes-du-Rhône Village of astounding naturalness.
Inviting cherry hue revealing a delicious bouquet of slightly spicy blackcurrant aromas. The palate's fresh attack helps to unfold the opulent ripe fruit flavours, revealing its suppleness and balance, accompanied by fine tannins.

To be enjoyed at 16°C with a chunky prime rib of beef, grilled to perfection, and characterful cheeses.
